<value>This is an undated letter from John Constable to David Lucas. Shirley dates this letter to April/May 1832. Beckett, however, suggests that this letter was written between 8 and 25 June 1832. The published transcript of this letter can be found in Shirley (No. 106, page 83) and Beckett (page 378). The leaf has been numbered S106, referring to the order in Shirley's publication.

When shall I have the rest of the prints -

I hear nothing of Sparrow* - he seems half crazy - and I fear he will be a trouble to me - and that what with his poetry - and other nonsense I shall not get him to work for me
                                                                                                  J.C.

*Sparrow was the letterpress printer. Beckett mentions that Sparrow's preparations to get married hindered the planned progression of Constable's work.</value>
