TRANSCRIPT: --- June 3rd 1832 Dear Lucas, Boner thinks it would be fair for both - if the spare prints Indian & other - are as thus compounded for - 1st - send them first here for me to look over - I promise none shall be removed from the portfolio in which they come - 2 When I have concluded on which & what No of them I wish to keep. then bye them of you at ''half price'' - 3 then give you a list to print up to at half price also - by which we [?] equally [^] bear the loss alike - share & share - I can device no juster way - for it would be a sin to destroy them - I had better change them for some of what I have - rather than destroy these which may be the best . . As to the appendix - I say nothing - you have only to keep your word - which I feel quite assured you will do - I have no right to make any charge nor shall I offer to use ''without further pay''. Dear Lucas - do not believe my friendship is in the least diminished towards you in any way - I wish for your association & friendship for the rest of my life for both our sakes. Yours. J.C.
