A pencil inscription on the top reads ‘July 1833'. TRANSCRIPT: --- Dear Lucas Boner is here today - and if you can meet us here at six this Eving we can finish everything - You can of course have ready money - I send Pitt for the escritoire - and you can if you please - lay the proof on the Truck at the same time - & Boner tells me that the other little matters are got together - ready. You are always welcome to have what you like [t/n: words deleted] of whatever you may want - I should like much when you can show it to see a proof - of the boy drinking. and if you wish for the picture again you are always welcome to it - or any other - I have made an excellent let of my first & 2d floors - but at far too little money - but to the [?] - as I have given up a book case to Miss Gubbins* I am in want of the Escrutoire.
