Dear Lucas
I send you some more chattels - I will not part with the table to any one else but yourself - after my mind has been made up. which I cannot well do at the present -
I have seen Mr Tinny* about the Picture - he will do all in his power to aid my request [in?] the loan of it - but he begs me not be over sanguine in the expectation of it - he sees however no impropriety in writing to her to make the request - but I must see you first [.] the main difficulty will be as to the time you may want - as it completely unfurnishes the drawing room = and it almost occupies one end of it - I told Mr Tinny I would be answerable for the safety of the Picture in all ways and if possible, would endeavour to supply its place in its absence - with another picture -
but see me soon and the sooner the better - I have not lost sight of my picture at Peacocks - my own children are ever dear to me - !!
Lady Jackson has got her little girl [t/n: 'by Gre' crossed out] from Greuze [.] we agreed for 30 Gs [t/n: Guineas] little enought - she sent me 30£. besides omitting to pay my request of 1£ for the case & carriageto & from the Isle of Wight - but I have named it to her
                                                                                                     J.C
what sad meanness we find in the Grandees - I have been all this morning in the Inns of Court - in the behalf of my friend ''Claude le Lorrain''
Yours ever trult J.C - My boys are back from Folkstone
If you have anything to return do so - say when you will see me - that we lose no time with Mr Tinny
''I have signed the death warrant of my beautifull ash''-

---

*Mr Tinny refers to a relative of the solicitor, John Pern Tinney of Salisbury.</value>
