A pencil inscription on the top reads \u2018Dec. 1834'.\n\nTRANSCRIPT:\n\n---\nFor\n     Mr Lucas\n            Westbourne Street\n27   [t\/n: 'Chel' crossed out] Pimlico  Kings Road\n\nDear Lucas\n                  I must beg of you not to delay sending me back the picture belonging to Mr Tinney - I want to have it again safely lodged in her house - not to be disturbed again at least by me, it cannot be now material to you - especially as it is begun on a plate of inferior size - and only as an odd and isolated affair - The large Salisbury of [t\/n: word deleted] course you will not receive. it would be only in your way.
