Dear Lucas -
I am quite pleased to see how well you are preparing for the New bow - the proof is about what I want - I mean that you took hence -
I took the Centre from the Elder bush - a blossom to the left - You will do possibly the same -
Go on as you think proper -
I got to a general meeting [t/n: of the Royal Academy] on Thursday (tomorrow) evening.
I dine at the Charter House on Saturday -
We cannot fail of this plate and a proper bow - J.C.
The [Ruffian?] is so delightfull that no one would for a moment 0 judge him to be one - so bland - & so delighted with John - & John with the [modle?] [.] they are in the Room waiting J.C.

<verso/cover>
To
Mr Lucas
J.C.
