June 23 1843
My Dear Sir
I thank you most sincerely for your very kind letter of yesterday. As it is uncertain when I shall be in Town, & as I am anxious to [?] plates & sheets you name in your communication to me, I should feel greatly obliged if you could have the [?] to them by Coach at your earliest convenience one Coach leaves the Golden Cross, Charring Cross, Every tuesday, thursday & Saturday at 9 o'clock in the morning.
Your Kindness, My Dear Sir, on this occasion as well as on a former, has conferred on me a real & lasting obligation, and I shall be anxious to know in what possible way I can sufficiently make you amends. The first opportunity that offers me to leave home I shall have the pleasure of calling on you; I shall never forget the pleasure of your conversation when I last took that liberty - alas! My dear Son was then with me, whose bereavement I have now to lament; he was drowned at sea, in [?] with a young friend & [?] in August last; neither of the bodies has since been seen or heard of - may you, My dear Sir, never know what the [?] of affectionate this is - I find it very difficult by any resource to soften sorrow - your present kindness will have that [?], & for which I shall ever [?] you. In the hope of hearing from you soon, I remain -
My dear Sir,
Ever yours truly
Geo Constable
