It appears to follow the letter 93 (page 73) in Shirley's volume. It is published in Beckett's volume (page 368), who suggests that this was written on 28 February 1832. Alongside the letter, the envelope also includes a typescript transcript, prepared by former Museum staff. TRANSCRIPT: --- <recto> Dear Lucas, I did not find your note by your brother till I was just going to bed - 1/2 past 11. I was busy when he put it into my hand - and a gentleman was with me. I send in as early as possible the draft for the £13. 10. 0 - and exceedingly shall I regret if the accident should cause you inconvenience.
