<value>This is a letter written from Haworth, Yorkshire by Charlotte Brontë to Miss Margaret Wooler, dated July 14 1851. The letter is 1 leaf (bifold) and mounted in the volume. The leaf has been numbered 10 in the upper right-hand corner according to chronology and its order in the volume.

In this letter, Brontë discusses Ellen Nussey's upcoming visit to Haworth and assures Miss Wooler of a warm welcome whenever she is able to visit Haworth as well. Brontë expresses an initial disappointment that Miss Wooler and Ellen Nussey could not visit at the same time but then says that once Ellen's visit is past, she will be able to anticipate Miss Wooler's visit. She says she will answer any questions Miss Wooler has on her recent visit to London 'to the best of my stammering ability' when they meet.

She also discusses Crystal Palace which she visited five times. Of Crystal Palace, she says 'its wonders appeal too exclusively to the eye and rarely touch the heart or hard', except when one visits equipped with 'a large range of scientific knowledge', highlighting a visit accompanied by Sir David Brewster who Brontë says 'looked on objects with other eyes than mine'.

A full edition of this letter can be found in Margaret Smith's 'The Letters of Charlotte Brontë', Vol. 2 (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 2000), pp. 665-666.</value>
