The letter is 1 leaf (bifold) and mounted in the volume. The leaf has been numbered 11 in the upper right-hand corner according to chronology and its order in the volume. In this letter, Brontë expresses her pleasure over Miss Wooler's recent visit to Haworth and says that both her father and the household domestic workers, Tabitha Aykroyd and Martha Brown, hope she will visit again. Brontë insists that when Miss Wooler visits next she must stay up to a fortnight to three weeks. She also passes on news of Ellen Nussey and her family as well as of Mary and Ellen Taylor in New Zealand. In particular, she wishes she might have shown Mary Taylor's letter to Miss Wooler: 'it gives such a thoroughly characteristic notion of their way of life'.
