The letter is 1 leaf (bifold) and mounted in the volume. The leaf has been numbered 14 in the upper right-hand corner according to chronology and its order in the volume.  \n\nIn this letter, Bront\u00eb writes that she is tempted by Miss. Wooler's invitation to join her in Scarborough but she must decline as she has not 'put pen to paper' for 'nearly four months now', which she says coincides with her period of illness. She emphasises that 'further relaxation is out of the question' while her work is still pending. Her publisher 'groans' over the delays and she is almost 'provoked' to provide 'short and crusty answers'. \n\nNonetheless, she adds she would be glad to join Miss Wooler at a later date if she can make good progress with her 'task' (writing). She also writes that Ellen Nussey makes plans to visit the Sussex coast for a period and would like Bront\u00eb to join her yet she is unsure of the suitability of these plans and her 'medical man' also advises against it. She once again emphasises that her ability to travel will depend both on her father's health and her own writing progress. She is glad to have received from Miss Wooler good tidings regarding Mr. Thomas, Miss Wooler's younger brother who has recently gone to America. She adds that all in the household would send their good wishes to Miss Wooler if they knew she was writing to her, specifying particularly Tabby Aykroyd and Martha Brown. \n\nA full edition of this letter can be found in Margaret Smith's 'The Letters of Charlotte Bront\u00eb', Vol. 3 (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 2004), pp. 28-29."}]},"identifier":[{"accession_number":"Bront\u00eb(C)\/14","primary":true,"type":"accession number","value":"Bront\u00eb(C)\/14"},{"priref":"110009983","type":"priref","value":"110009983"},{"type":"uri","uri":"https:\/\/data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/id\/object\/110009983","value":"https:\/\/data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/id\/object\/110009983"}],"institutions":[{"@link":{"type":"reference"},"admin":{"id":"agent-149638","uid":"adlib-agent-149638","uuid":"7376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8"},"summary_title":"The Fitzwilliam Museum"}],"lifecycle":{"creation":[{"date":[{"earliest":1852,"latest":1852,"value":"1852-03-12"}],"maker":[{"@link":{"type":"reference"},"admin":{"id":"agent-18451","uid":"adlib-agent-18451","uuid":"44ea0a4f-41b1-397c-9880-2ace1de3d0df"},"summary_title":"Bront\u00eb, Charlotte"}]}]},"measurements":{"dimensions":[{"dimension":"Length","units":"mm","value":"181"},{"dimension":"Width","units":"mm","value":"114"}]},"summary_title":"MS Letter, Bront\u00eb to Margaret Wooler","title":[{"value":"MS Letter, Bront\u00eb to Margaret Wooler"}],"type":{"base":"object","type":"OBJECT"}}
