In this letter, Barrett Browning says she has given Miss Mitford an incorrect impression of Mr Hunter, saying that he has good qualities and Miss Mitford should forget what Barrett Browning has said. She discusses Balzac and Eugene Sue, with particular reference to the representation of enslavement in \u2018Le Bananier\u2019. She mentions a letter she has had from Mrs Taylor, who is 'the wife of the Anti Corn Law Taylor' who has requested Barrett Browning\u2019s autograph for their Bazaar. She refused but regrets her refusal. \n\nShe praises Richard Henry Horne\u2019s \u2018A Story Book of Country Scenes\u2019 though she agrees with Miss Mitford that there is \u2018nothing at all new in it\u2019. She says she has a note from Horne and that he may return to England in April. She wants to know when she will see Miss Mitford again.
