<value>This letter is written from London, England. In this letter, Barrett Browning discusses the weather and Leigh Hunt not visiting them due to the rain and cold. She mentions that her family is moving from Wimpole Street to the Isle of Wight. She mentions a new article forthcoming from Mrs Jameson on women and labour, and the Petition for Reform of the Married Women’s Property Law, which both Barrett Browning and Sarianna Browning had signed. She says that Jessy White lives on the other side of town but visits often and is supporting Felice Orsini by translating his work. She mentions Mary Howitt and her daughter visited; ‘Of course Robert hated them, because they believe in the spirits.’ She has proofs of two of her books and says the title of one is ‘Aurora Leigh’. She mentions her exhibition visit and seeing work of Millais and “Chatterton,” by Henry Wallis and John Forster’s upcoming marriage.

A transcript of this letter is available online via The Brownings' Correspondence Project numbered 3840. It is also published in 'The Brownings' Correspondence' (Kansas: Wedgestone Press, 2016), vol. 23, pp. 33–36.</value>
