<value>This letter is written from Florence, Italy. Robert Browning's portion of this letter is not extant. Barrett Browning discusses Robert Browning's sensitivity to fluctuations in her health and strength and their future travel plans. They will spend the next witner in Egypt but the intermediate summer with Sarianna and Robert Browning Senior in Paris. She says that Fanny Haworth is struggling to get on in society in Italy and Isa Blagden has advised her to return to England. Of Haworth's travel plans, Barrett Browning says: 'But she decides, & then doubts, & then re-decides– Italy does not agree with her, it is clear.'

She discusses homeopathy, saying she has not tried it because 'I am bound, you see, to my horrible morphine,—without which I fall to pieces, .. & with which, globules are impotent', however Robert Browning is quite committed to homeopathic treatment. She gives advice to Sarianna if she suffers from disorders of digestion again, gives news of 'Penini', and in her postscript says that her brother Harry is married. Of his bride: 'And she is said to be very pretty & charming, and good & affectionate to boot,—meaning more than ten thousand a year—as I count thousands.'

A transcript of this letter is available online via The Brownings' Correspondence Project numbered 4171. It is also published in 'The Brownings' Correspondence' (Kansas: Wedgestone Press, 2017), vol. 25, pp. 112-115.</value>
