In the May 24th portion of this letter, Robert Browning Sr says he is very sorry regarding ‘Robert’s accident’. Browning Sr says he has been writing in the Biblioteque and that ‘books are brought up – probably with a view of their being destroyed’ hence the frequent disappearance of books that he finds. He also describes the weather in Paris. In the May 25th portion, he writes that he hopes Robert Browning's ankle is better and says ‘Madame Louis has just returned; Louis is a great deal better’. Part of the letter appears to have been written in French by Madame Louis to Sarianna Browning saying her husband is better. This letter has been numbered 'SD2580' in the Supporting Documents of the Browning Correspondence Project. It has not been transcribed online.
