<value>This is a letter written from Paris, France. In this letter, Barrett Browning offers her condolences to Haworth after the passing of Haworth's mother. She asks what support Haworth has now and says such blows are always sudden. She says they will be in London a week after the 16th as Mr Kenyon has offered his house. She wonders if they will meet Haworth in London. In the last paragraph, she says she read Haworth's 'last long letter ... with the greatest sympathy' and that Haworth has escaped a terrible fate: 'To be fastened to an unworthy man'. She also says that John Kenyon is ill and going to the Isle of Wight.

This letter has been transcribed in 'The Brownings' Correspondence', vol. 22, pp. 244–246. (Kansas: Wedgestone Press, 2015). It is transcribed online via The Brownings' Correspondence project, numbered 3801.</value>
