<value>This is a letter written from Florence, Italy. In this letter, Barrett Browning confirms she received Haworth’s first letter and both she and Robert Browning admired the drawing. She comments on the practicalities of Haworth lodging at Elizabeth Wilson’s place and negotiations with the other lodger Miss W (‘The poor woman seems helpless & friendless’). She also asks Haworth to ask the Crossmans about Daniel Douglas Hume’s loss of power and whether he will be visiting Florence. She concludes with a reference to the defeat of the Conspiracy to Murder Bill.

This letter has been transcribed in 'The Brownings' Correspondence', vol. 25, pp. 63–64. (Kansas: Wedgestone Press, 2017). It is transcribed online via The Brownings' Correspondence project, numbered 4146.</value>
