<value>This is a letter written from Florence, Italy. In this letter, Barrett Browning says she is glad Haworth is so well and that measles may be a ‘turning point’ for her as it is for children. She says that Mr Stuart is about to begin an interesting lecture series. She also says that Daniel Douglas Hume was in fact not at Lyons and that it was only someone using his name. Barrett Browning wonders when Hume will appear in Florence. Robert Browning is converted to the use of homeopathy and even contemplating buying a medicine chest cold while she has the measles. Barrett Browning herself is weak. She urges Haworth not to rush to go out as she can easily catch a cold while she has the measles.

This letter has been transcribed in 'The Brownings' Correspondence', vol. 25, pp. 87–88. (Kansas: Wedgestone Press, 2017). It is transcribed online via The Brownings' Correspondence project, numbered 4159.</value>
