In this letter, Sarianna Browning gives Haworth the news of Barrett Browning's death. Sarianna Browning says ‘this sad blow prostrated me’. Though she knew EBB’s health was declining for the last two years she could not have imagined it. Barrett Browning wrote cheerfully and others said she looked well. She describes the death scene and care extended by Robert Browning. Browning ‘leaves Italy at once’. They will go to the seaside then he will spend the winter in Paris with them. He will take Pen ‘to poor Arabel for a few days, not longer’, Isa Blagden has also given up her house in Florence and is going to England: ‘She has been most kind to him and the child’. She concludes: ‘I dread meeting him– Let me hear from you.
