She makes reference to \u2018unhealthy quarters\u2019 and \u2018cholera\u2019 and says that Annette Black \u2018is very anxious\u2019 to get Blagden to Leghorn \u2018where you will spend a dull winter without books or friends. Mr Cassels tells me that the dulness of the place is dreadful\u2019. Barrett Browning says it is difficult \u2018to persuade\u2019 them that Louisa \u2018who looks so much better than she did last year at this time\u2019 should leave Florence but Blagden knows her \u2018more intimately & accurately\u2019 than the Brownings do. Blagden will also give up the physician Ferdinando Zannetti (1801\u201381) (a Florentine physician, who had correctly diagnosed Isa\u2019s knee problem) if she goes.
