<value>This is a letter written from Florence, Italy. This is a short note in which the preliminary comments are on wine. Barrett Browning talks about her fragile emotional state: ‘Do you know my heart died in me when Robert talked of going to England next year? I felt as if I could’nt bear it.’. She tells Blagden to ‘come as often as [she] can’.

This letter has been transcribed in 'The Brownings' Correspondence', vol. 24, p. 69 (Kansas: Wedgestone Press, 2016). It is transcribed online via The Brownings' Correspondence project, numbered 4000.</value>
