Barrett Browning makes reference to ‘poor Mr Trollope’ after Joseph Garrow (1789-1857), Thomas Adolphus Trollope’s father-in-law died in Florence. She is sorry not to be able to send Charlotte Bronte’s The Professor to Blagden as Mrs Jameson currently has it. She will send it to Blagden afterwards. She says not to be ‘over-anxious’ to get it however, ‘As a work of art it is miserable, & yet worse in its narrow prejudiced vein’. She says she wishes Blagden had said how she is and asks ‘And not a word of Lytton?'. She sends them all her love and says to come on Saturday.
