She comments on the Italian and French political situation. She praises a paper of Theodosia Trollope’s and asks whether Blagden has ‘attentively read the last debate’ in the House of Commons. She criticises and expresses her dissatisfaction with statesmen. She says it is very hot. Fanny Haworth is not sure when she should go to Paris. Robert Browning is attending to Pen’s lessons but Barrett Browning wants to relieve him a little if possible.
