Barrett Browning discusses Hetty\u2019s (Harriet Hosmer) appearance after Blagden and Kate Field\u2019s departure. Hosmer has since met Blagden and reasoned with her about going to Rome, \u2018Only that you wont go, Isa, of course, seeing that nothing I ever want to make you do, will you do, as a matter of principle\u2013 The English scheme is a pure risk of health & money\u2019. Barrett Browning thanks Blagden for a Tennyson poem received from her (Presumably \u201cThe Grandmother\u2019s Apology,\u201d which was published in the 16 July 1859 issue of Once a Week. Tennyson received a hundred pounds for the contribution - from The Brownings' Correspondence project), Anna Jameson has been in Germany and now goes to England so cannot come to Italy. They (the Brownings) met the Cartwrights and she describes Mr Cartwright\u2019s political views. Barrett Browning\u2019s poem is published in the Athen\u00e6um and she sends Blagden an omitted stanza. She regrets the omission now but will have it printed in time. She comments on the Tuscan government assuming the Savoy arms. Mrs Cartwright and the Storys will be visiting them in the evening.
