She states that Mr Hazard visited and she was ‘cheered’ by his opinion of Napoleon having only spoken to him on spiritualism previously. Hatty (Harriet Hosmer) is recently arrived but has also received a letter that her father is very ill and she may need go to America immediately. Fanny Haworth is in London unless she has changed her mind from whom Barrett Browning has received a copied extract of a letter discussing seances in London. Barrett Browning mentions a nightly vision of the Pope’s and asks after Miss Cobbe. She says that Theodore Parker is better.
