He says ‘the weather for some time has prevented’ his walking amongst the book stalls but in spring he hopes to resume ‘the only recreation’ he experiences in Paris. He wishes Robert Browning knew ‘of any young man who would wish to try his hand on Marozia’. Robert Browning Sr has collected enough material to ‘form a “truthful” history of her’. While it would be ‘out of character’ for Robert Browning Sr himself to write this, he would be able to provide a potential writer with ‘so much information – as might make it no very difficult task’. He says there are certain difficulties due to the ‘wilful misrepresentations’ of previous writers though there is a ‘pleasure’ to ‘clear up’ such difficulties. He has ‘satisfactory cleared’ a major difficulty regarding Marozia’s marriage. This letter has been listed on the Brownings' Correspondence project but not been transcribed.
