<value>This is an undated letter from Charles Robert Leslie to David Lucas. The leaf has been numbered S124, a cross-reference to Shirley 124, in which Constable writes 'Lardner', the name of the 'gentleman who lectured on the Stone Henge'. A pencil inscription on the top reads 'Nov 1832', but this is not accurate. A tentative date is 19 May 1842, as Leslie asks for confirmation on other names in letters written by Constable at this time (see Constable/EL/1/4/1 and Constable/EL/1/4/3)

My dear Sir/
Can you tell me what is the name in this note of the gentleman who, as Constable says, lectured on the Stone Henge?
I hope your family are all going on well. - I should be afraid of you calling just now, but will thank you to write to me & when you have a proof of the small wind mill to send it by post - you need not retuen the enclosed note.
Yours very truly
CR Leslie
