The sampler is horizontally worked and includes repeating border patterns, an alphabet, a bottom band of a balanced arrangement of detached motifs and the date '1754', a wide pictorial section and two inscriptions. The picture is of a central building with a bird on each of the two turrets, flanked by similar hills with a crucifix, a stag, a dog, a crowned lion and a flowering plant. The first inscription reads 'THe Grass WIThereTH THe FLOWeR/FaDeTH and the second' Praise the lord all ye heathen/ O Praise him all ye Nations/ for his merciful Kindness is evermore/ and more towards us and the truth/ of the Lord endureth for ever/ Praise the Lord'.
