The sampler comprises two sections. The top section is made up of four horizontal bands, which contain alphabets, numerals 1-10, crowns, a flowering plant in pot motif and an inscription.  The second section depicts a fruit tree and deer being chased by dogs on a hillocky ground. Above this, birds, butterflies and caterpillars are worked.
