A spiral design border frames the main body of the sampler which comprises two sections. The top section has the Crucifixion of Christ, two female figures, two thieves and headed by the inscription ' (Look) with humility' worked. The bottom section is taken up with a square puzzle of 23*23 letters. The instruction above reads 'Begin to read at the J in the centre'. In doing so one reads Jesus Christ can save us now'.
