    <value>Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in satin, stem, back, buttonhole, double running and herringbone stitch with French knots, cutwork with needle weaving and needle lace stitches.  There is a selvedge at the top and bottom whilst the side edges are turned under and hem stitched.  The sampler comprises of horizontal bands including conventional sprigs, repeat border patterns and detached motifs.  The final wide band includes seven detached stylised sprays and a bird motif.</value>
