  <description>
    <value>Bris&#xE9; fan, sticks of finely pierced, painted and gilt ivory; guards of finely pierced and gilt ivory (20+2). Ribbon of cream coloured textile. Rivet of gilt metal, washer of stamped gilt metal. Front: there are three circular, gold bordered medallions, the middle of which is surrounded by a blue trapezoid shaped ribbon with a gold fern-like border; the central scene has a village beside a lake with mountains in the background and two big trees on the bank; a road with groups of people winds towards the village. On each side there is a circular medallion painted in grisaille with figures in classical dress; on the left a woman sitting at tables and a man with a helmet; on the right a standing woman. The sticks and guards are shaped to resemble Gothic pinnacles and pierced to resemble lace. On the ribbon zone there are gold quatrefoils. On each stick there is a small, circular medallion painted in grisaille on a green, purple background to resemble cameos. Guards: Both decorated in the same way: flowers on the bottom, a diapered lozenge, flowers, a triangle, a net pattern and a gold flower decoration on top.</value>
