In the centre, a woman dances holding a billowing scarf. object type: Folding fan, leaf of green silk, painted in bodycolour and inset with red gauze, decorated with applied painted ivory, frosted, stamped gilt-metal pailletes (pierced panels and leaves). Gold sequins and 'silver' sequins of two shapes. Ivory sticks and guards (18+2), the former shaped and plain, the latter backed above the shoulder by green leather decorated with gold tooling including the words 'Restons/Unis'. The head of the guards is strengthened with tortoiseshell. Nail rivet with mother-of-pearl washers. In the centre of the leaf is a lady dancing, holding a billowing scarf over her head. Her face is of painted ivory, her bodice of sequins and her red skirt semé with sequins. She wears a 'silver' sequin belt and necklace. She stands on painted greensward flanked by flowering bushes. On each side, there are scrolling sprays of sequins and leaves, above which sits a border of fourteen pierced panels. There is a border of close sequins along the top of the leaf, and spaced sequins down the sides and the bottom of the leaf.
