object type: Wood sticks and guards with rounded ends, lacquered black and decorated in red, silver and two shades of gold lacquer. (21 originally 22 + 2).  Brown silk ribbon.  Brass ? rivet and washers.
Front: In a fan-shaped panel with paired leaf borders, a Chinese genre scene of men and women in a garden.  Below the shoulder, there is a floral design and above the ribbon
a bird on each stick and the guards.
Back:  Similar but a different genre scene in which two boats approach an island.
Guards: The fronts have a central area dotted in red.
