object type: Chinese feather fan with painted goose feather leaves and lower sticks and guards of pierced and carved ivory.  The front is decorated with a central garland cartouche within which are colourful designs of birds and flowers.  This is flanked by two sets of floral sprays and the whole is bordered with flowers, leaves, birds and bows.  The reverse is decorated with blue, green and red flowers.  Metal alloy (?) rivet and hoop.
