  <description>
    <value>Single leaf of paper, painted in watercolours and decorated with three applied photolithographs and coloured sequins attached by thread. Bone sticks and guards (16+2) pierced and set with sequins and gilt. Rivet with paste button securing also the metal carrying loop. The leaf is divided into three sections by radial stripes. In the centre there is a shaped cartouche containing a monument to the Independence of Belgium; on each side there are oval cartouches containing bust portraits of Leopold I and his wife Louise d'Orleans (married 1832). The spaces are filled by scrolls, sprays of pink and red roses and blue bows, one over each photolithograph; sprays of green leaves between gilt lines form borders across the top and down each side.</value>
