They were made in at least three patterns at Chelsea. They may have been copied direct from Japanese Kakiemon originals from Arita, examples of which were in Queen Mary's collection at Hampton Court and Kensington Palace, or from Meissen copies of the 1730s. The pine, prunus and bamboo represent the Three Friends of Winter in Chinese scholarly tradition.referenceterm-106451adlib-term-1064519cdfd62c-ee07-3884-ae08-c797aad0863118th Century, Midreferenceterm-107736adlib-term-107736e93a8dd1-d76d-320b-be9b-afa352e322a1George IIreferenceterm-110762adlib-term-11076292b555c4-d666-3846-a471-77585013d6c6Red anchor period (1752-1756)presumed leadreferenceterm-107733adlib-term-10773300160189-e3ce-3796-a88b-5aa8d6c808c4lead-glazereferenceterm-37637adlib-term-3763789b09133-dc0a-3a88-bd40-5aef1ad30ecbsoft-paste porcelainreferenceterm-89480adlib-term-89480f1ea518e-351c-3f42-b2a7-db0f8559fa2cvasereferenceterm-107478adlib-term-10747881002e74-5083-37b8-a429-4a303fc40695covervase and coverhistory noteThe Right Hon.
