The body is devided into three panels, each embossed and chased with flowers and scrolling foliage. It stands on three scroll legs with matted acanthus leaf capitals. The concave cover rises in the centre to a low dome with a flower and leaf finial. The handle in the form of a knarled branch devides near the top so two branches join the body either side of the hinge, with two ivory insulators at the top and one at the bottom.
