The short knopped stem stands on a domed foot with circular shaped edge. The scroll handle is surmounted by the body of a winged dragon whose tail coils round the handle. The body of the ewer is embossed and chased with spiral fluting and rocaille cartouches which have tails of flowers and foliage. Engraved at the back and on each side of the neck is a spray of flowers, and under the lip is a rocaille cartouche enclosing the crest of Ormonde beneath the coronet of a Marquis. The foot is similarly fluted and embossed and chased with spiral fluting, rocaille cartouches and flowers.
