object type: Cream earthenware, thrown, with attached branches, decorated with coloured glazes in ‘Whieldon’ style. The circular dish has a flat base and thick almost vertical sides with a curved rim, impressed with a spiral on the front. Attached to the rim are seven vertical branches formed of tubes of clay, some with projecting thorns. The interior of the dish, and the cut tops of the branches are decorated with brownish-yellow glaze with brown markings, and the rest of the surface, including the base has bluish-grey glaze with purple markings.
