    <value>Bone china, slip-cast, painted overglaze in enamels, and gilt</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Bone china, slip-cast, and painted overglaze in blue, two shades of green, yellow, flesh-pink, pink, red, pale brown, brown, and black enamels, and gilt. The interior of the base is glazed. The flat underside is unglazed and has a large approximately circular ventilation hole. The rocky mound base rises up at the back to support the figure. On the viewer's right it has a group of applied leaves on the top, and on the back, six tufts of smaller foliage. The man sits on the rock his right foot crossed over his left, his right arm raised, and his left hand holding the right paw of a pug dog, who is begging on the rock to his right. He has black eyes, rosy cheeks, a red mouth, and brown hair tied in a queue with a black bow. He wears a white shirt with ruffles at the neck and cuffs, a waistcoat with alternating rows of small blue and red motifs, a bluish-green jacket with gold edging, yellow breeches with gold bows at the knees, white stockings and black shoes. The pale brown pug wears a gold studded collar with a medallion dangling at the front. The mound is painted in yellowish-green, and brown. A pair with C.40A-2006.</value>
