The horse and rider are supported on a high rectangular base with sloping fluted sides, vertically striped in the three colours, and having a yellow and a green circle on the top below the horse.  It is hollow underneath and unglazed except for a narrow band round the lower edge. The officer is seated in an upright  commanding posture. He originally held a sword in his extended right arm, and holds the reigns in his left hand. He wears a plumed tricorne hat touched with brown and yellow, a short curled wig with a queue at the back,  a mottled brown jacket with green  pleats and buttons, a cream waistcoat with a sash and Garter Star, breeches with green buttons, and mottled brown boots. A green scabbard for his sword is suspended on his left side. The saddle cloth has an incised border pattern coloured green.
