The body of the tripod consists of two small capped posts and two intertwined dragons on the rim, a concave upper part that flares outward to the rim, and three legs decorated with geometric clouds patterns. The central part of the body decorated with two panels of dragons and phoenices against a geometric background. Inscribed underneath “Da Qing Qianlong Fang Gu (Great Qing Emperor Qianlong imitation of the antique)” title: cup NOTES ----- type: history note value: Sir Percival David 1924, Purchased by Sir Percival David in 1924 from a bank in Peiping. They were part of the collection from the Forbidden City held in security for a loan made to the last Chinese Emperor.
