Each plate has two trapezoid strap loops retaining fragments of the original crimson velvet covered leather straps, at the right and two trapezoid buckles at the left. The front plate has two buckles at the top, the rear two strap loops and strap fragments at the top. The plates are lined with crimson velvet edged with cream coloured cotton tape.
