    <value>hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels, and gilded, with separately made nodding head</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded, and painted overglaze in blue, green, yellow, dark pink, purple, red, and brown enamels and gilded; the flat underside is unglazed. The head is made separately and is balanced on the shoulders by means of a rod projecting on each side of the neck.The bottom of the neck is attached to a cylindrical lead weight. A gilt-metal mount with engraved decoration encircles the neck edge of the body.

The low mound base is square with rounded corners, and is decorated on top with applied green leaves and two yellow flowers wth purple centres. The boy stands on his left foot with his right leg raised and bent at the knee, his right hand is at his side, and his left hand is raised. He wears a cabbage leaf hat over his bald head, and has brown eyebrows and eyes, pink cheeks and red mouth. He wears a long white robe with scattered polychrome floral sprays and dark pink sleeve linings, with a V-shaped opening at the front. A yellow cape is draped around his shoulders, and he has yellow and pink shoes. A narrow gold line runs round the edge of his sleeves, the lower edge of his rbe, and the top of his right shoe.</value>
