The narrow rectangular base has a shaped edge bordered by rococo scrolls and two shells. It is slightly concave, and glazed underneath, and has supporting struts forming a shallow H. The centre of the top is painted green, and the scrolls around the edge are picked out in puce and gold. On the back viewer's right corner there is a tree stump dappled in shades of brown and green. The Girl sits on a mound of brown stones on the other back corner, resting her right foot on top of a shell. She holds her right hand over a next full of eggs resting on her right knee, and extends her left hand towards a bird held in the boy's left hand. He stands on the right, supported by the tree stump. He rests his right hand on the girl's shoulder and leans towards her tenderly. She has greyish-brown hair with a very small cap on top, delicately tinted cheeks and greyish-brown eyes, and wears a white bodice with yellow stomacher, a yellow petticoat and a pale purple skirt turned back to shoe the salmon lining, and black shoes with yellow bows on top. The boy has a black broad-brimmed hat with a yellow band and ribbon, a white waistcoat, a salmon-pink coat, pale purple breeches with darker purple stripes, white stockings and black buckled shoes."}],"identifier":[{"accession_number":"C.185-1932","primary":true,"type":"accession number","value":"C.185-1932"},{"priref":"140151","type":"priref","value":"140151"},{"type":"uri","uri":"https:\/\/data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/id\/object\/140151","value":"https:\/\/data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/id\/object\/140151"}],"inscription":[{"description":[{"value":"rampant lion"}],"location":"on side of central support on base","method":"painted in underglaze in blue","type":"factory mark"},{"description":[{"value":"script letters"}],"location":"on side of central support on base on right of rampant lion","method":"painted underglaze in blue","transcription":[{"value":"JAH monogram"}],"type":"factory mark"},{"description":[{"value":"circular paper label printed with a broad black border with the name of the owner reserved in white"}],"location":"on the base","method":"printed in black","transcription":[{"value":".FRANCES L.DICKSON"}],"type":"label"}],"institutions":[{"@link":{"type":"reference"},"admin":{"id":"agent-149638","uid":"adlib-agent-149638","uuid":"7376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8"},"summary_title":"The Fitzwilliam Museum"}],"legal":{"credit_line":"Given by Mrs W.D.
