The slightly concave underside is glazed, and has two firing cracks and three ventilation holes: one large oval under the front left corner; one large circular almost in the middle; and one small circular near the back right corner. Most of the shallow, almost square, base is covered by a green rug with a frilled edge; the front right corner is mottled in grey. The woman sits on a chair with cabriole legs and high shield-shaped back upholstered in green. The back is pale pink with a green grid pattern. To the woman's left there is an oval marble-topped table supported by three inverted cornucopia bound with gold ribbon, and filled with polychrome fruit. A dark grey and white spaniel lies on the base to her right, and there is a pile of books on the front left corner of the base. The woman looks to her left, resting her right foot on the pile of books, and holding up a scroll in her right hand, while turning over the pages of a music book on the table with her left hand. She has a ruddy complexion, red lips, and dark grey long hair hanging down her back. She wears a white chemise which has fallen off her left shoulder to reveal her breast; a long pink skirt scattered with red floral sprays, and having a blue border round the hem; and white shoes with gold bows on top."}],"identifier":[{"accession_number":"C.3187A-1928","primary":true,"type":"accession number","value":"C.3187A-1928"},{"priref":"140245","type":"priref","value":"140245"},{"source":"Glaisher MS Catalogue, vol. 35, pp. 95, 97","type":"old object number","value":"5011a"},{"type":"uri","uri":"https:\/\/data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/id\/object\/140245","value":"https:\/\/data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/id\/object\/140245"}],"inscription":[{"description":[{"value":"crowned double C"}],"location":"on inside of back edge base","method":"painted underglaze in blue","type":"factory mark"},{"location":"on inside of back edge of base to left of factory mark","method":"painted in grey enamel","transcription":[{"value":"script B"}],"type":"mark"},{"description":[{"value":"the upper part of the L is obscured by a ventilation hole"}],"location":"on base","method":"incised","transcription":[{"value":"W.T.Z.\/S2 L"}],"type":"incised mark"}],"institutions":[{"@link":{"type":"reference"},"admin":{"id":"agent-149638","uid":"adlib-agent-149638","uuid":"7376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8"},"summary_title":"The Fitzwilliam Museum"}],"legal":{"credit_line":"Dr J.W.L.
