The caddy is of six-sided baluster form with a circular, flat-topped cover. Three sides are decorated with seated Chinese men taking tea, with birds and insects flying overhead. The other three sides have standing Chinese men about to take tea. Below there is a green hoirzontal band. The corners, shoulder, and the side of the cover are gilded.
