    <value>hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded, and painted overglaze in bluish-green, yellowish-green, yellow, flesh pink, mauve, red, brown, and black enamels. The flat underside is unglazed and has a small central ventilation hole. The rounded low rocky base rises up at the back into a heap of rocks which support the figure. The top is decorated with applied leaves and two flowers: white, red and yellow, and yellow, white and green. The man stands on his left leg with his right extended behind him. He leans back from the waist and looks towards his left with his left hand held level with his abdomen, and his right arm bent and the hand grasping the handle of a brown walking stick. He has a black moustache, and on his head has a bluish-green turban, with a mauve fan-like projection on top, and a gold circlet around the front. He wears a white three-quarter-length coat, with a mauve shawl collar and lining, yellow cross bands and buttons, a red sash into which is tucked a dagger, white close-fitting trousers, and yellow shoes. A scimitar with a yellow hilt terminating in a bird's head, and a black scabbard is slung on two white straps on on his left side</value>
