    <value>Hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Hard-paste porcelain, moulded, and painted overglaze in pale blue, yellow, greyish-dark green, pink, flesh-pink, dark plum, red, grey, and black enamels. The underside of the base is glazed overall. It is divided into two halves by a strut and has a large ventilation hole in the left compartment which extends upwards into the figure of the woman. The group stands on a deep sided oval rocky base with a tree stump behind the man, painted in streaky grey overall. The woman stands on the viewer&#x2019;s left with her left arm bent and the hand tucked into her skirt. In her right hand holds a fan by her side. She wears a pale blue turban, yellow earrings, a white dress with a frill round its low neckline, a black spotted pink overdress, a pale blue belt, and yellow shoes. The man stands on the viewer&#x2019;s right. His left hand is tucked into his coat and he extends his right arm towards the child who stands between his parents. He wears a black three-cornered hat, a red waistcoat, a dark greyish-green coat, yellow breeches, white stockings and black shoes. The child wears a very pale blue hat, a dark plum all in one suit with a white collar and red sash, and black shoes. He looks left towards his father, and holds up both his arms towards his right.</value>
